The Fresh Meadows neighborhood in NY lies between Cunningham Park and Kissena Park. It is bordered by Auburndale to the north, Jamaica Estates, Flushing, and Utopia to the west, and Holliswood to the south. One unique thing about Flushing Meadows is that it flaunts a perfect balance of apartment complexes and estates. Much of Flushing Meadows’ commerce is centered on thoroughfares such as 73rd Avenue, Union Turnpike, and the Long Island Expressway. The north-south access to Fresh Meadow is provided by 188th Street, Utopia Parkway, and Francis Lewis Boulevard.

This residential area is believed to have gotten its name from the huge meadows that once covered it. These meadows provided the soil with the fertility it needed to make the land there suitable for grazing animals as well as farming. The land here was primarily used to produce vegetables, fruits, and grains. The meadows provided a lovely get-away destination where visitors could enjoy fresh air and expansive open spaces while taking a break from the busy urban lifestyle.

With time, the meadows decreased in number as development took over. The Queensboro Corporation was responsible for most of the construction in the area; they purchased a huge chunk of land with plans to establish a suburban residential area. It was only a matter of time for the region to transform into one of the most desired neighborhoods in New York.

Fresh Meadows is a tranquil and rather peaceful residential area that is characterized by beautiful parks, tree-lined streets, boutique shops, and excellent schools, among others. The neighborhood is home to the renowned St. John’s University, an institution that brings a different level of vibrancy to Fresh Meadows. There are tons of impressive landmarks in Fresh Meadows, notably Cunningham Park, spanning more than 358 acres. This park features fantastic nature trails, an array of sports courts, picnic areas, as well as playgrounds.

This residential area is well taken care of when it comes to matters of transport. There is ample public transport available, with good access to the Long Island Rail Road and several bus routes.
